In order to address the individual learning needs of your child before he/she begins the high school preparation process in the fall, we are offering the Canadian Achievement Test on two consecutive Saturday afternoons, April 29 and May 6 from 1:30-4:30.
All students will write a timed multiple-choice test, which evaluates academic skills, such as reading comprehension and written language concepts, as well as basic mathematical operations and word problem solving. The students will also provide a constructed written response. This assessment, conducted over 2 three-hour periods, will allow us to give you written feedback on the readiness of your child to write the high school entrance exams in the fall. If your child demonstrates a weakness in a particular area, we would be happy to then set up a consultation with you at an additional charge in order to further investigate remedial programs that can benefit him/her.
The cost of this testing is $200 and must be received by April 24, 2017. Space is limited. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Payments must be made directly to Strategic Learning Centre and can either be made by credit card, by calling the centre at 514-631-9745, or via cheque payable to: Strategic Learning Centre, 189 Hymus Blvd, Pointe Claire, Qc, H9R 1E9. Please note that this standardized testing is offered only in English.
