We would be pleased to work with your child to prepare them for writing the Grade 10 History and Citizenship Education exam on January 15, 2018. The preparation program will consist of weekly workshops offered prior to the exam.

For many students, the Canadian History exam is the most challenging in all of high school. While the course itself is content-based, the testing is skills-based. Some of the skills required on the final exam include reading comprehension, essay writing, language proficiency, and the processing and synthesis of verbal and non-verbal information. Through no fault of their own, many Grade 10 students still have not mastered these skills.

Our skills-based workshops are unique in that they address the process of writing the final exam while teaching students the skills they will need on exam day. In our experience, content-based tutoring does not achieve this objective. These workshops will also give your child confidence and help alleviate any stress and/or anxiety related to the exam. These workshops will be conducted in groups of approximately 12 students, to allow for more individual help for each student. Course content packages and practice materials will be provided. Space is limited.

The workshops are open to students writing the exam in French; even though the workshops will be conducted in English, every student who has completed our program in the past has been successful on the exam in French.

The sessions will be given on Sundays from 1:00 to 4:00 starting on October 15, 2017.

The cost for registration for the workshop is $695.00.

Payments must be made directly to Strategic Learning Centre and can either be made by credit card, by calling the centre at 514-631-9745, or via cheque payable to: Strategic Learning Centre, 189 Hymus Blvd, Pointe Claire, Qc, H9R 1E9.

We feel that we are able to offer a comprehensive approach that will not only prepare students for their exam but also provide them with essential learning skills in preparation for CEGEP. We appreciate the opportunity of working with your child. Please contact the Centre to confirm your participation.
