Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program®: A multisensory program for students who have difficulty with decoding and spelling and who have underdeveloped phonological awareness and reading skills. The LiPS Program is unique in that it helps students explore phonemes through the oral-motor movements that produce the sounds. This approach allows students to hear, see, and feel the physical characteristics of phonemes, and the contrasts between them.
Enseignement Multisensoriel Simultané: EMS is a multi-sensory reading program in French, which simultaneously uses visual, auditory, tactile and kinaesthetic pathways to teach accurate decoding, spelling and reading comprehension skills. This program is based on the renowned multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham method of reading and spelling.
Neuralign: A reading intervention program or computer program which uses brain plasticity to create connections that are responsible for proper reading and comprehension. This process-oriented program uses fast moving graphics, differential, sound and a multisensory approach to build phonemic awareness, graphonemic knowledge, and language structure. Several cognitive skills are targeted, which include: working memory, auditory and visual processing, visual closure, executive function, ocular motor control, timing, and more.
Math
With JUMP Math, students develop foundational skills by solving simple problems before moving to more complex problem solving. Through guidance, meaningful instruction, and practice, students develop confidence and competence in the understanding of mathematics.
TouchMath is a multisensory program that is suitable for students of all ages and learning styles. This method makes math concepts more accessible for students who struggle to understand grade-level content.
Language
Fast ForWord® for Language and Reading: This program is ideal for students, ages five to adult, who have difficulty with sound awareness, language ability, and/or the processing of auditory information (with or without a diagnosis of Auditory Processing Disorder)
Writing
Students work one-on-one with experienced writing teachers to become skillful in producing many different types of writing, including story writing, book reports, projects, essays, and research papers.
Comprehension
Visualizing and Verbalizing Program for Cognitive Development, Comprehension & Thinking (V/V)®: Many readers can read words and have a developed vocabulary, but still struggle to comprehend sentences or paragraphs. V/V teaches students who struggle with reading comprehension and language processing to build pictures in their minds as they listen to or read text, with the ultimate goal of being able to visualize the main idea or get the whole picture. This is called concept imagery.
Attention and focus
Interactive Metronome®: Interactive Metronome® is a drug-free approach to improving the processing abilities that affect attention, motor planning, and sequencing. This improvement, in turn, strengthens motor skills, including mobility and gross motor function, and many fundamental cognitive capacities such as planning, organization, and language.
Study Skills/Executive Functioning
Executive functioning is a set of mental skills, or processes in our brains, that control how we complete tasks in our everyday lives. Among other things, strong executive functioning skills help students study better for tests, plan their time more effectively, have an effective organization system, and focus better in class. This course helps students develop these abilities in addition to traditional study skills concepts such as note-taking and memory strategies.

Tutoring
Through individualized instruction, we are able to focus on the individual learning needs of our students. By taking into account each student’s learning style and focusing on their strengths, we help them achieve academic and personal success.
We help elementary, high school, CEGEP, and university students learn the subject content of their classes. We also help students prepare for end-of-year MELS exams at the elementary and high school levels, such as the Canadian History and Citizenship Education, Math, and Science and Technology courses at the end of grade 10.
Summer Program
Whether you are seeking extra help for your child, want to reinforce a core class, or want to prevent a ‘summer learning slide’ in preparation for the next school year, all of our specialized programs are available in the summer. Without the demands of homework, tests, and assignments, summer is the perfect opportunity for your child to improve their reading, math, writing, or language skills.
Workshops
High School Entrance Exam Preparation
We would be pleased to work with your children to prepare them for writing entrance exams for their chosen high schools. The program will consist of one three-hour workshop offered prior to the entrance exams.
The cost of registration is $350.00.
The workshop will be taking place on Sunday, September 15 from 9:00-12:00.
This workshop will give students confidence and help to alleviate anxiety related to the exam and interview process. Our program includes study questions and take-home note packages to ensure that each student is fully prepared. Space is limited.
Grade 10 History Exam Prep Workshop
Our skills-based workshops are unique in that they address the process of writing the final exam while teaching students the skills they will need on exam day. Content-based tutoring does not achieve this objective. These workshops will also give your child confidence and help alleviate any stress and/or anxiety related to the exam. These workshops will be conducted in groups of approximately 12 students, to allow for more individual help for each student. Course content packages and practice materials will be provided. Space is limited.
The workshops are open to students writing the exam in French; even though the workshops will be conducted in English, every student who has completed our program in the past has been successful on the exam in French.
We feel that we are able to offer a comprehensive approach that will not only prepare students for their exam but also provide them with essential learning skills in preparation for CEGEP. We appreciate the opportunity of working with your child. Please contact the Centre to confirm your participation.
